Last year, Nike introduced the #LeBronWatch, a campaign that added some attention to LeBron James’ signature line during a time that sees the performance basketball market struggling at retail as a whole. Nike re-designed the LeBron 15 with inspiration from classic colorways and silhouettes across its vast archive that would drop in limited numbers as soon as James would step onto the court rocking them. Unsurprisingly, the program has returned with the LeBron 16. Thanks to @J23app on Twitter, we have a look at what may be the latest pair in the ongoing series.

This “Safari” LeBron 16 Low takes clear inspiration from Atmos’ iconic Air Max 1 collaboration that first released back in 2002 before getting a slightly tweaked retro release in 2016. Burnt orange suede encapsulates a tonal, bootie-like upper with a black zipper running up the tongue. The pair borrows the exact Safari print-covered mudguard and leather Swoosh from the Air Max 1. Grey Safari print also covers the heel piece, which sports an embroidered Swoosh at the center. A gum bottom akin to the early 2000s OG completes the homage.

A release date and pricing have yet to be announced for the “Safari” Nike LeBron 16 Low, but a teaser image surfacing suggests they could make a debut on court for the #LeBronWatch sooner than later.

UPDATE (02/17): Here are the official images of the upcoming Nike LeBron 16 Low “Safari” courtesy of Nike. While there are no official details regarding the low-top, expect the release to be imminent.
