The Foothill football team had only played in one of its scheduled three games this season because of COVID cancellations. The Falcons also had their bye week.
Coach Vernon Brown sensed they would come ready to play tonight against Centennial. His suspicions were correct in a 40-7 victory.
“The kids’ attitude has been great. They have been grinding and practicing hard,” Brown said. “I knew our chances were good because they were ready to play. They were itching to play.”
Quarterback Cameron Paul had touchdown passes to Cole Reed, Kendric Thomas and Michael Gazzana. Thomas rushed for about 115 yards and a touchdown, and sophomore Jack Thow closed the scoring with a 50-yard run.
“The kids were upset because they haven’t been playing,” Brown said.
