After a scoreless first quarter, the Moapa Valley football team posted five touchdowns in the second quarter tonight in beating visiting Pahrump, 42-0.

“It was a good challenge for us. Pahrump played hard in the first quarter,” Moapa Valley coach Brent Lewis said. “We kind of had an explosion in the second quarter.”

Gunner Redd and Sam Wheeler had defensive touchdowns to ignite the outburst, and Austin Heiselbetz had a receiving touchdown to open the scoring. Redd also had a receiving touchdown, and Ben Jolley and Landon Wrzesinski posted touchdown runs.

Moapa Valley (4-0) remains undefeated.
