Helmet Display Unveiled at Allegiant Stadium

Steve Marcus

A Battle Born display with helmets of 96 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association high school football teams is displayed at Allegiant Stadium Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021. Intermountain Healthcare was a partner with the Las Vegas Raiders in creating the display.

League play begins this week for many high school football programs in Southern Nevada.

Here’s hoping this week’s picks turn out better than last week’s selections, which went 11-5.

There were a few laughers, including my pick of previously unbeaten Desert Oasis over Shadow Ridge. Shadow Ridge scored 70 points in a blowout win to help bring the overall record of the picks column to 51-14.
