Adonis Jackson rushed for three touchdowns and about 90 yards tonight to help the Las Vegas High football team narrowly beat Basic, 28-27.
Basic brought the ball to inside the Las Vegas 5-yard line with less than two minutes remaining, but couldn’t score. Las Vegas improves to 4-2 overall, 2-0 in league.
“We didn’t play a clean game, but a win is a win,” Las Vegas coach Erick Capetillo said.
Elijah Espinoza connected with Andrew Bowen for the other Las Vegas points. A 2-yard run from Jackson with about five minutes to play provided the winning points.
“Basic came out fired up and ready to play. It was their homecoming,” Capetillo said. “But our kids played as a team and kept believing.”
