In 2012, Nike released the “Liverpool” LeBron 9 Low, inspired by the English football club LeBron James had just purchased an ownership stake in. The release wasn’t without controversy—markings linking the shoe to the club that were visible on the sample were removed before it hit retail. However, the colorway did eventually release and quickly became a highly collectible piece of James’ signature line. A return of the “Liverpool” 9 Low in 2020 didn’t go down as rumored, but the concept has been revitalized in a fresh arrangement this year.

Set to release this spring is the “Reverse Liverpool” LeBron 9 Low, which features green as the dominant color in place of red. Red and black share accent work, but the real highlight is the reappearance of official Liverpool Logos, present on the heels and visible through the translucent section of the outsole.

Nike hasn’t officially announced the release date yet, but we’ll keep you up to speed in the weeks ahead.
