Only a few months have passed since Thisisneverthat and New Balance dropped their 850 V2 collection and now, the South Korean streetwear label and the Boston-based sportswear brand are back with a new sneaker project.

For their fifth capsule together, Thisisneverthat has given the New Balance 2002R and 1906R silhouettes new looks, with both pairs dropping this Friday. The styles draw inspiration from the New Balance 1500UKG sneaker that many runners wore in the ‘90s. While Thisisneverthat has released several iterations of the 2002R in the past, this capsule will include an aged colorway of the 1906R, an updated version of the running shoe from 2010.

In addition to the sneakers, this new Thisisneverthat x New Balance capsule will include matching apparel and accessories that are designed after the duo’s pseudo running competition “2022 DOWNTOWN RUN,” which is embroidered on the pieces.

Thisisneverthat’s next New Balance collection will be released this Friday, Aug. 19, at newbalance.com and at select New Balance retailers. The sneakers retail for $150 each.
