Vans has unveiled its next collaboration, which is a sneaker and apparel capsule designed in partnership with African surf brand Mami Wata.

The releases include a new iteration of the Vans Authentic VR3 SF, the Style 36 Decon VR3 SF, the Sk8-Hi 138 Decon VR3 SF, with each style inspired by African surf culture and various cultural events that fostered the positivity of surfing.

The sneakers feature hand-woven uppers, with graphics and fabrics inspired by prominent in Africa. It’s worth noting that the rubber used to make the shoes’ outsoles is sourced from regeneratively grown natural rubber, while the new VR3Cush insole is made from 25 percent bio-based EVA foam partially derived from plants.

Aside from the sneakers, the project includes a collaborative pullover hoodie, short sleeve tees, woven shirts, board shorts, and a hat.

This Mami Wata x Vans collection will be released on Feb. 16 at select Vans retailers.
