Kendric Rice’s 95-yard fumble return for a touchdown at the end of the third quarter tonight accounted for the game’s only points in Sunrise Mountain’s 6-0 win over Canyon Springs in the Class 4A Mountain League title game.
Thomas Marcellino and Dario Starts had interceptions for the Miners to help keep Canyon Springs from scoring.
Sunrise Mountain advances to the Class 4A state title game Nov. 20 against Centennial at Allegiant Stadium.
“What a blessing it is to take these kids from east Las Vegas to Allegiant Stadium to play a game of football,” Sunrise Mountain coach Chris Sawyers said.
