Another Nike x Off-White collaboration is here, and it’s even bolder and more eccentric than fans of designer Virgil Abloh might expect. Least surprising of all: it’s also a women’s running sneaker. As part of the Swoosh’s “Athlete in Progress” collection, Abloh has tapped into the brand’s rich heritage in track and field—and given things his trademark streetwear flip. The Zoom Kiger 5 is the latest Nike sneaker to bear the Abloh aesthetic since his “The Ten” collection ended last year, and it’s proving to be an under-the-radar hit with potential to become the type of inescapable sneaker that Abloh is known to create.

Designed as an elite running shoe, the Nike Air Zoom Terra Kiger 5 provides multi-directional traction and rugged weatherproof support. It’s the kind of shoe that can handle slippery rubber tracks or wet rocky trails with ease. Abloh remixes the sporty sneaker with a giant, oversized swoosh logo and rubber spikes that extend from the sole. There is also an exaggerated lacing system that wraps around the sneaker like a snake—and of course, the signature Off-White graphic text. The sneaker has started to roll out in limited-edition drops within the past weeks and has been available in tonal electric green, black and hot pink, white and slime green. Bold sneakers sometimes call for even bolder colors, and Abloh and Nike have delivered on that front.

The sneaker was initially unveiled at one of Abloh’s Off-White runway show earlier this year and has shown up on the feet (and Instagram) of the designer himself several times since then. And so far, sneakerheads and streetwear devotees are paying no mind to the fact that it’s an women’s training sneaker with real performance chops. To them, it’s a beautifully designed sneaker worth lusting after—and it’s not hard to see why every guy wants to wear it.
