Raiders at Panthers, 10

Las Vegas Raiders defensive tackle Maurice Hurst celebrates after a sack against the Carolina Panthers during the second half of an NFL football game Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, in Charlotte, N.C.

The Raiders were forced to utilize their Reserve-Covid 19 list for the first time in-season on Tuesday afternoon, according to ESPN.

The organization added defensive tackle Maurice Hurst to the list, meaning he either tested positive or came into contact with someone who had tested positive. Hurst was not among the players fined by the NFL for attending tight end Darren Waller’s charity event and failing to wear a mask last week.

His return will depend on whether he’s experiencing symptoms. If asymptomatic, Hurst can rejoin the team within five days after two negative tests that are at least 24 hours apart. If symptomatic, Hurst must wait at least 10 days after symptoms first appeared and three days after they passed.

Hurst played a season-high 35 snaps in Sunday’s loss to the Bills, and coach Jon Gruden said Monday the third-year pro out of Michigan would continue to rotate in frequently with Maliek Collins.

The Raiders had an off-day Tuesday but will commence preparation for their week 5 game at the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday when they practice at their facility in Henderson. Hurst will not be allowed on site until he completes the aforementioned protocol.
