If you believe Jesus died and rose again to save you from your sins, you are automatically saved and sealed until the day of redemption, which means eternally.
Works do not save us or keep us saved. Good works are part of the Christian walk only after one is saved. Even if a person doesn't do good works, they are still saved. They will be ashamed and lose rewards in heaven, but they are saved.
