Wow! I thought I could handle hearing this song and be okay. I was the wife. Now I am not. I never wanted that. But the other one does not feel the same as in this song. Now I watch my friend go through it and there is never anything that anybody can say to either side that will change how bad the fall and the hurt will be. Just hold them, let them scream and yell it out. almost seven years later and at least I am off the floor. I have forgiven but I will never forget. For my friend and anyone going through this, take all the time you need. That is the advice I would give.

Some of the married men do not wear a ring and act like they are single when they are out..you know the Players…

This hits different when you’ve been there. I was the wife in this same situation. It hurts beyond measure and your love for that person is never the same again.

This song hit so much to home. Thank you for writing and making this song come to life. With cancer and treatment I can always come to this song for motivation and inspiration. You don’t know how much this song means to me.

I don't like much new country, I miss the old country music. A lot of the new country songs sound like pop but with violins, banjos and southern accents: it just doesn't quiet do it for me. This song however, hits different. I can hear the level of emotion in their voices and their voices blend nicely when they harmonize. Nicely done ladies. This is easily one of my favorite new country songs. Hopefully more songs like this will come along and take the new country genre back to it's roots a bit.

He helped me change a tire in the Citgo parkin' lot
He said we both could use a beer and I said, "Hell, why not?"
What started out as one night turned to six months just like that
He never had a ring on so I never thought to ask
But then last night I saw a message on his phone
That said, "Hey, babe, what time you comin' home?"
I never wanted to be that girl
I never wanted to hate myself
I thought this kind of lonely only happens to somebody else
Bein' the other one when there's another one
God, this feels like hell
Thought I knew who I was, but it's gettin' hard to tell
I never wanted to be that girl
I heard about those women who didn't have a clue
The ones that made excuses like my mama used to do
And he jumps in the shower just as soon as he gets home
And I spend half an hour goin' through his phone
I never wanted to be that girl
I never wanted to hate myself
I thought this kind of lonely only happens to somebody else
Bein' the other one when there's another one
God, this feels like hell
I thought I knew who I was, but it's gettin' hard to tell
I never wanted to be that girl
Oh, and I feel stupid
I feel cheap
I feel used
I feel weak
I never wanted to be that girl
I never wanted to hate myself
I thought this kind of lonely only happens to somebody else
Bein' the other one when there's another one
God, this feels like hell
I thought I knew who I was, but it's gettin' hard to tell
I never wanted to be that girl
I never wanted to be that girl
I never wanted to be that girl

I was dating a guy when I noticed he was acting weird, got it out of him that he had a gf in another state. Obviously I broke it off and told him he needed to tell her. Girls got a right to know. Guy had the gall to bring her to a massive friend group activity a few weeks later.
I was pissed. I never wanted to be the other girl. He made me that without me even knowing

External validation is a dangerous trap, while we think we love and respect ourselves… but truly not enough to see things clearly
