2022 ‘Foot Locker Scholar Athletes’ Recipients Announcement

For the last 11 years, Foot Locker, Inc. has provided generous funding to exceptional college-bound students across the country via its ongoing “Foot Locker Scholar Athletes” program, but for 2022, the retailer is also providing select employees with grants to help further their education.

Foot Locker announced that 20 college-bound students and 30 Foot Locker team members will be awarded a total of $560,000, which breaks down to $20,000 for each recipient. According to the retailer, this program recognizes students who make a difference in their communities. This grant will offer financial support as they continue to impact their community while pursuing higher education. Thus far, Foot Locker, Inc. has provided over $806,000 in scholarships to team members through its Foot Locker Associate Scholarship program.

“We know that an education can provide incredible opportunities for individuals that break down barriers,” said Richard Johnson, the chairman and chief executive officer at Foot Locker, Inc. “Our scholarship program eases the financial burden of pursuing an education for the recipients so they can focus on their studies and passion areas. Our goal is to invest and empower the next generation with the hope that they can change not only the trajectory of their own lives but also their families and communities.
