Nike SB’s first collaboration of 2023 arrives this weekend by way of a new partnership with Covina, Calif.-based skate shop Pawnshop.

The Pawnshop x Nike SB Dunk High “Old Soul” is inspired by a sentimental moment shared by the store’s father-and-son owners, Anthony and Donovon Piscopo. When Donovan, who skates professionally for Nike SB, was a kid, Anthony pawned a gold ring passed down by his father to afford Donovan’s first skateboard. This memory inspired the name of their store, and now it’s the backstory for Pawnshop’s upcoming Dunk High.

With golden details (including a single colored eyelet referencing the ring that started their journey) throughout, the black leather Dunk Highs feature wear-away panels on the toe box and Swoosh revealing more gold underneath. Meanwhile, the shoe’s “Old Soul” nickname serves as an on-the-nose callout to its use of the Dunk’s original sole tooling.

The Pawnshop x Nike SB Dunk High “Old Soul” releases tomorrow, Jan. 13 at Pawnshop and select Nike SB retailers for $130.
