Back in 2018, Jordan Brand created a special version of the “Grape” Air Jordan 5 for Will Smith’s 50th birthday. Inspired by his Fresh Prince of Bel-Air character’s tendency to wear the Jordan 5 sans shoelaces, the 2018 “Grape” iteration came without laces and even skipped eyelet holes altogether. Right when it seemed like that laceless pair could wind up a piece of obscure sneaker trivia history, the same treatment has been given to another original Jordan 5 colorway that will be available this week.

To celebrate Season 2 of the rebooted Bel-Air, Jordan Brand worked with Peacock to create three pairs of this Air Jordan 5 “Bel-Air” in Black/Metallic Silver. The sneakers retain all of the original “Black/Metallic” Jordan 5’s details including Nike Air embroidery at the heel, a speckled silver midsole flame motif, translucent panel and heel netting, and a reflective Jumpman-branded tongue. But like 2018’s “Grape” version, this new take on the “Black Metallic” Jordan 5 skips the shoelaces and leaves the lace holes closed, a detail which can be seen below.

Three pairs of this Air Jordan 5 “Bel-Air” were created to kick off Bel-Air Season 2, which is now streaming on Peacock. One of them, a men’s size 12, will be raffled this Thursday, March 2 via NTWRK for an entry price of $1. The event takes places from 9 to 11 pm ET.
