In what has become an annual tradition, New Balance is releasing a collection of sneakers that pays tribute to the grey hue in the brand’s history with the upcoming capsule shown here.
On “Grey Day,” which is the brand-created holiday observed yearly on May 15, the Boston-based sportswear brand will release its “Moon Daze” collection, with styles drawing inspiration from the future and how sneakers would look like after walking on another planet. Included in the collection is a the “Made in USA” silhouettes consisting of the 990v4, 990v6, 996, and 998. Also featured are new grey-based iterations of the 550, 580, 9060, and More Trail sneakers.
“To New Balance, the color grey represents a history of innovation and serves as a global symbol of style—it is emblematic our unique path forward,” Chris Davis, New Balance’s chief marketing officer and senior vice president of merchandising, said. “Grey Day is a moment for the brand to declare our unwavering position at the intersection of performance and style, and celebrate the design innovation that continues to propel us into the future.”
The New Balance “Moon Daze” collection will be released on May 12 at newbalance.com, with prices ranging from $120 to $220.
