   I had a bad go at life, my father and step mother beat me every day, my best friend got out of jail one day and he became my big brother, he kept me away from crime that was "too serious" and we would hang out and party all the time, him and a whole gang of friends, the stories where endless.. People knew how bad I had it at home so my substances where always free, my birthday was the day after Jerry's so we would always meet up on my birthday and show each other our BD presents as if it was Christmas and have a fun time skating and getting stoned, one night a handful of us had no place to really drink and get stoned so we went up to the tracks, ..it was bad, after that night jerry was in the hospital for like a week, no function I'm the mind, there where some bad things I saw that I'll never get out of my mind, never, I went into shock, I drank like I didn't care about life, every year my birthday came around I would go extra hard on his birthday and get completely destroyed, I lived like this for many years, until It became such a problem that I nearly destroyed myself for real, look, I know this time of year can hurt incredibly bad, believe me, I been to hell so many times I have a F#@%!π punch card, I lost so many people, been through so much shit, I'll tell you this, I know my friends still look over me, they still watch out for me, family, friends, brothers, do I move in torment? Do I allow them to look upon me like they are the reason I suffer? Smh, I believe I would have them look at me like our time together granted me strength instead, I'll move I'm strength today, its our decision, they celebrate our victories and weep at our pain, GET UP. Sometimes you gotta wipe the tears away to see the love all around us, be the stronger version❤

    I’m a Jew and haven’t been very active in my faith for long time but since the October 7th attacks in Israel I’ve been more Jewish than ever before! Because of that, I’ve been facing discrimination at my job to the extent that I may lose it. Bosses have literally made stuff up to get me fired! It’s not the first time this has happened and I’m sure it won’t be the last but G-d made me this way and I won’t give up! Anything that happens or has happened makes me only stronger! Thanks for the song it’s what I needed right now! Baruch Hashem!

    October 2022 my wife was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. All of 2023 has been a battle. Chemo, biopsies, hair loss, complications, mental health battles and surgeries. At the time the song was released my wife was in the middle of her double mastectomy surgery. The waiting room sucked and I hate hospitals so I decided I would go wait in the car. I streamed this video and cried my eyes out. I couldn't wait for her to hear it. I knew these words would resonate with her story and remind her of how she has accomplished so much. So many of Tom songs have hit home during this year. Can't even listen to his song "Cancer". My wife is also a recovering alcoholic (3+ years sober) so one of my biggest fears through all of this is that she would relapse and his song "Church" hit the nail on the head. Toms songs are like the words in my head that I can't get out. I'm thankful for who he is and for what he is doing. My wife will have a cosmetic surgery next year that will hopefully be the last. We won't have an official scan until next year but the chemo has gotten rid of the cancer that metastasized to her liver and the double mastectomy has removed what cancer was left so we are going to call it a Cancer Free Christmas 2023!! My wife has been hurtin but is now a stronger version! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!! HOG
