At CinemaCon 2024 in Las Vegas yesterday, Robert Pattinson made his first public appearance since becoming a father. The British actor momentarily traded his new-dad wardrobe staples—the oversized parkas, quarter-zip pullovers, and slim-fit jeans he favors in his regular life—for a real-deal movie star ensemble: head-to-toe Dior.

Hitting the stage with Parasite director Bong Joon-ho to talk about their new film Mickey 17, everyone’s fave emo superhero wore a striped silk mock neck, a cotton blouson, and some matching wool joggers, all courtesy of the French maison. All of the pieces came directly from Dior’s yet-to-be-released Fall-Winter 2024 collection, but considering Pattinson has been the face of the brand for over a decade, it shouldn’t come as too much of a shocker that he’d get first dibs.

It wasn’t any of these items that caused a stir in menswear Discords across the land, however. Nor was it R Patz’s unruly hair and clean-shaved look. Instead, it was the sneakers on his feet that had everyone all gassed up.

Since dropping in 2020, the Dior x Air Jordan 1 Low has been considered by many sneakerheads to be the holiest of grails. The shoes are crafted from calfskin leather and painted in a special ‘Dior Gray’ colorway, with the Parisian label’s iconic Oblique motif splashed across the prominent Swoosh logos. All of this sits atop a classic Nike Air midsole, complete with an icy blue rubber outsole to make things pop even more.

Dior’s Air Jordan 1 Low dropped alongside a high-top version, which is normally the more sought-after of the two. The low-top, however, is actually considerably rarer, with only 4,700 pairs made globally. Which is why, although its $2,000 retail price was already pretty steep, its resale prices remain outrageously astronomical. Right this second, a pair of size 7s on StockX will set you back a cool $23,921.

We recently ranked the sneaker collections of all the actors who have played Batman. Noted Dunks enthusiast Ben Affleck, predictably, took the crown handily—though Pattinson surprisingly didn’t lag too far behind. Now, after showing up onstage in one of the hottest Js of all time, RPatz might soon be coming for Ben’s number-one spot.
